Brian's Doorframe.

Saturday night we attended the grand opening of a high-end men's accessory store downtown, patrickmartin3, where Brian made a customized doorframe for the store out of some great finds that were part of a few months of never-ending searching (the hubcap on the top is from back home in MI). I'm a pretty proud girlfriend, I'll admit.

Such a great night, getting all dressed up and sipping wine, and meeting some lovely and intellectual people. Made me feel very grown-up.

Thanks to the lovely Jacey, for letting me borrow some pics, as my computer isn't letting me upload. Blah.

THOUGHT BUBBLES//

A drawing I just finished that was inspired by a doodle I did during my Print Paper Book class critique (oops.) It represents "thought bubbles" and how humans communicate. I added the color with acrylic, but I think I'll sell this one at the art show and do another of just black and white.

P.S. Thanks to Brian (ahem *best boyfriend ever*) for the beautiful new camera, so no more crappy photobooth pics. YES.

New Sketchbook.

I can't even remember the last time I bought a sketchbook. I like it like that. I recently promised myself I'd never buy one again. Just make make make.

Golden Trees.

I've spent way too much time in the printshop finishing these things. That's all.

//Photo Etchings//

For my Photo Process in Print class. Preparation took about 8 hours and a lot of waiting, but the final print is very worth it. Expect to see some of these at the MCAD Art Sale in November-I'm going to experiment with screenprinting a color on the car and throw a vintage frame on it.

First Screenprint.

My first screenprint. A quick in-class assignment experimenting with wax paper and layers.

Its actually fluorescent pink and gold, they look a little dull here. Lately I really like using hot pink in my work. Huh.
